25SUM GCSE Y9Y10 Physics 1 - Satya
Phase . 1-to-4.
Service Description
Phase 1. 1-to-4. Physics is the science of the fundamental concepts of field, force, radiation and particle structures, which are inter-linked to form unified models of the behaviour of the material universe. From such models, a wide range of ideas, from the broadest issue of the development of the universe over time to the numerous and detailed ways in which new technologies may be invented, have emerged. These have enriched both our basic understanding of, and our many adaptations to, our material environment. Students should be helped to understand how, through the ideas of physics, the complex and diverse phenomena of the natural world can be described in terms of a small number of key ideas which are of universal application and which can be illustrated in the separate topics set out below. These ideas include: Lesson 1: Energy Energy transfer. Kinetic and potential energy, thermal energy (using specific heat capacity) Lesson 2: Energy Conservation of energy and power. Conduction and convection. Efficiency. Energy resources and their uses Lesson 3: Forces Contact and non-contact forces. Weight, mass and gravity. Resultant forces and work done Lesson 4: Forces Springs, moments and fluid pressure Lesson 5: Forces Speed, distance, time, acceleration, velocity time graphs, terminal velocity Lesson 6: Forces Newton’s laws, inertia and momentum Lesson 7: Electricity Circuit symbols, V=IR, resistance for different circuit devices Lesson 8: Electricity Series and parallel circuits, Power Lesson 9: Electricity Static electricity, The national grid Lesson 10: Exam Questions Exam questions to review all of the above topics
