Phase 1 : It is a 1-to-4 course. Course Overview: This 20-week comprehensive course is structured into two phases, each consisting of 10 lessons. It is designed for students aiming to excel in the GCSE/IGCSE Maths exam, focusing on core topics. While the course assumes a foundational understanding of basic maths concepts, it delves into more complex variations and applications to foster a deeper and broader comprehension of the material. Course Objectives: To deepen students' understanding of key mathematical concepts To enhance problem-solving skills and mathematical reasoning. To prepare students to confidently tackle a wide range of GCSE/IGCSE maths questions. To extend students' knowledge beyond standard GCSE requirements where appropriate. Course Outline: Phase 1: Lesson 1: Quadratics and Solving Quadratics by Factorising Understanding the properties of quadratic equations. Techniques for factorising and solving quadratic equations. Lesson 2: Gradient of a Line and SOHCAHTOA Calculating the gradient of linear equations. Applying trigonometric ratios (SOHCAHTOA) to solve problems. Lesson 3: Ratio Problems and Ratio Fraction Problems Solving complex ratio problems. Converting between ratios and fractions to solve various questions. Lesson 4: Simultaneous Equations and Tree Diagrams Methods for solving simultaneous equations. Using tree diagrams to calculate probabilities. Lesson 5: Fractional and Negative Indices, Parallel and Perpendicular Lines Simplifying expressions with fractional and negative indices. Understanding and applying the properties of parallel and perpendicular lines. Lesson 6: Box Plots and Cumulative Frequency, Expanding Triple Brackets Constructing and interpreting box plots and cumulative frequency graphs. Techniques for expanding expressions with triple brackets. Lesson 7: Changing the Subject and Rearranging Harder Formulae Methods for changing the subject of an equation. Rearranging complex formulae to isolate variables. Lesson 8: Algebraic Fractions Simplifying and solving problems involving algebraic fractions. Lesson 9: Sine Rule, Cosine Rule and Area of Any Triangle Applying the sine rule and cosine rule to find unknown sides and angles in triangles. Calculating the area of various types of triangles using different methods. Lesson 10: Factorising Harder Quadratics and 3D Pythagoras Theorem Advanced techniques for factorising complex quadratic equations. Solving problems using the 3D Pythagoras theorem
